I have a passion for learning that has taken me around the world. I studied Japanese as a student at Southern Methodist University, and attended Kwansei Gakuin University in Nishinomiya, Japan, as an exchange student to build on my language skills. I also studied abroad and at Suzhou University in China for a summer, where I studied Chinese history and traveled to Shanghai, Nanjing, Xian and Beijing to view China’s past and present for myself. I graduated with a degree in International Studies and minors in Japanese and Cultural Anthropology in 2006 and moved to the Washington, D.C. area, where I have been ever since.

In 2013 I graduated from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland with a master’s of journalism degree. I am seeking employment that would use the research skills and cultural sensitivity I learned while studying East Asian culture and politics combined with my multimedia skills.
